Father Juan was born in Puerto Rico, USA. After high school, he moved to Atlanta where he attended Georgia Tech and studied Industrial Engineering. In the fall of 2001 he entered the novitiate of the Legionaries of Christ in Connecticut. He made his first religious profession in Ireland in 2003 and returned to the United States to study Humanities.
Father Juan spent four years in Rome where he obtained a bachelors degree in both philosophy and theology from the Regina Apostolorum. While in the Eternal City, he dedicated a big part of his free times to guiding visiting pilgrims through the many religious, cultural, and artistic treasures. He also volunteered as a catechist at a local Roman parish where he prepared boys and girls for Confirmation.
For his apostolic internship as a Legionary brother he was sent to Florida where he directed youth work in various cities. Some activities there included starting up boys’ clubs, running weekend and summer camps, and offering spiritual guidance to young men. During this time, he also became closely involved with the development of the Regnum Christi Mission Corps.
After completing his seminary formation, he was ordained to the priesthood on December 15, 2012 in Rome. He has now been assigned as the new Young Men’s Section Director for Regnum Christi in the Atlanta area.
His parents live in Puerto Rico. He has a younger sister, an older brother, and eight nieces and nephews.
