HOLY WEEK ATLANTA 2024
Mission Youth
Mission Youth is a English-speaking branch of Juventud y Familia Misionera, a Catholic evangelization ministry born in Mexico in 1987 as a response to Saint John Paul II’s call to the New Evangelization. It was established in the US in 1993, after World Youth Day in Denver.
Attending a mission is an impactful experience for both youth and adults alike. Whether you go out of the country or simply travel downtown, meeting and serving others and sharing Christ’s love is a great experience. Listen to several missionaries detail their experiences with different types of missions.
Mission Youth sponsors missions in 11 different sites in North America during Holy Week. This year – all of the Holy Week mission sites are offer exciting mission ideas, virtual options, formation, and programs. Each of these mission sites is OPEN to all families young adults, and youth.
THEME: “LEAVE YOUR MARK”
The theme of our mission this year is: “Leave Your Mark”. We are convinced that each one of us has been created with a personal mission that God has entrusted to us. God has willed to make us part of salvation history and chooses to need us to bring His message to this world. Even though we are not able to go to the streets of Atlanta this year and visit the homeless, the sick, and the needy, we know that God has a mission for us and wants us to be His apostles from home this Holy Week.
From Holy Thursday through Easter Sunday we will broadcast formation blocks, mission challenges, prayer experiences, and liturgical celebrations so that you can live this Holy Week from home. We want each High Schooler and Young Adult participating in our virtual mission to receive the tools needed to become beacons of light in their world.
Holy Week 2.0 is an online mission to live the most sacred week of the year at home, but also in union with many other missionaries and the Church throughout the world. The tools and activities of this Holy Week Package unite us in prayer and sacrifice to Jesus and to each other in preparation for Easter! For just $3. #HolyWeekatHome2020

6-8th grade boys & girls will not be told about being missionaries; they get to be missionaries–fearless & joyful with their friends! Organized in mission squads (4-6 boys/girls), led by an adult mission leader, they will serve people in the Cumming community through manual labor, faith surveys, gathering prayer intentions, and serving at charity/donation locations.
Each day begins & ends at St Brendan the Navigator parish with activities altogether: Holy Thursday evening mass, Good Friday live stations, and Holy Saturday Easter celebration for the whole community in the afternoon.
