HOLY WEEK ATLANTA 2025
For Holy Week 2025, we will again be united in mission. Our 2025 theme, “Hope Awakens” puts hope front and center in this jubilee year. Christ is the reason for our hope. He gives us hope. And he wants to make us witnesses to hope for every person we encounter.
This Holy Week let Christ send us forth to bring that hope to each other, and to every person we mission to.
Mission Youth
Mission Youth is a English-speaking branch of Juventud y Familia Misionera, a Catholic evangelization ministry born in Mexico in 1987 as a response to Saint John Paul II’s call to the New Evangelization. It was established in the US in 1993, after World Youth Day in Denver.
Attending a mission is an impactful experience for both youth and adults alike. Whether you go out of the country or simply travel downtown, meeting and serving others and sharing Christ’s love is a great experience. Listen to several missionaries detail their experiences with different types of missions.
Mission Youth sponsors missions in 11 different sites in North America during Holy Week. This year – all of the Holy Week mission sites are offer exciting mission ideas, virtual options, formation, and programs. Each of these mission sites is OPEN to all families young adults, and youth.
THEME: “LEAVE YOUR MARK”
The theme of our mission this year is: “Leave Your Mark”. We are convinced that each one of us has been created with a personal mission that God has entrusted to us. God has willed to make us part of salvation history and chooses to need us to bring His message to this world. Even though we are not able to go to the streets of Atlanta this year and visit the homeless, the sick, and the needy, we know that God has a mission for us and wants us to be His apostles from home this Holy Week.
From Holy Thursday through Easter Sunday we will broadcast formation blocks, mission challenges, prayer experiences, and liturgical celebrations so that you can live this Holy Week from home. We want each High Schooler and Young Adult participating in our virtual mission to receive the tools needed to become beacons of light in their world.
Holy Week 2.0 is an online mission to live the most sacred week of the year at home, but also in union with many other missionaries and the Church throughout the world.
