RC IDENTITY

Regnum Christi has a Christ-centered spirituality that is lived together in communion with all members, in union with the whole Church, and through a mission to build the kingdom of Christ.

Regnum Christi’s mission is to reveal Christ’s love to people, form them as apostles, and launch them in their God-given mission.

Regnum Christi members fulfill their mission through missions, retreats, youth work, schools and universities, small groups, personal accompaniment, parishes, online and radio evangelization and other evangelization work.

The personal experience of Christ’s love produces in the hearts of Regnum Christi members an interior urgency to give themselves to their mission passionately, so as to make his Kingdom present: “The love of Christ impels us” (2 Cor 5:14). This passion results in a way of living that we call Militia Christi.

Regnum Christi HISTORY
Regnum Christi FEDERATION

Through the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (CICLSAL), the Holy See established the Regnum Christi Federation and approved its Statutes on May 31, 2019. The RCF Statutes went into effect on September 15, 2019.

In March and April of 2018, delegates from all of the territories and each branch gathered in Rome for three different events that took place over about three and a half weeks: 1) the General Chapter of the Legionaries of Christ, 2) the General Assembly of the Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi, and 3) the Joint General Assembly of the Regnum Christi Movement.

The third assembly (the Joint General Assembly of the Regnum Christi Movement) was the first time all branches came together from all territories to participate in this process.  The Joint General Assembly of the Regnum Christi Movement was done in two parts.  91 attended the Joint General Assembly of the Regnum Christi Movement in April 2018.  The Holy See approved the Statutes of the Regnum Christi Federation on May 31, 2019, and became effective on September 15, 2019.

The full text of both the Statutes of the Regnum Christi Federation and the general rules/regulations can be found here.

If you would like to find out more information about the RC Federation, read or download the official statutes of the RC Federation, or review documents from the General Assemblies, visit the Renewal website for a plethora of details.

For current RC members in every state of life, as well as future members, the Statutes of the Federation will remain a firm reference point as we journey forward together serving the Church. An essay entitled, “What Is Regnum Christi?”, attempts to provide answers to this question. Different people will answer this question in different ways; nevertheless, these different answers will have certain essential elements in common. The Statutes enshrine those common elements in legal language; this Essay, by Fr. John Bartunek, LC attempts to explain them in practical and existential terms. Click here to purchase a copy.
