We were so excited for this year’s Gala as the theme focused on celebrating marriage and family and their importance to society.. On October 15, we hosted our 12th annual Thy Kingdom Come! Gala at the Georgia Aquarium! With a new record turnout, guests were treated to a special evening with a cocktail hour, a delicious meal, and talks by our Honored Guest, the Auxiliary Bishop of Atlanta, John Nhán Trấn, the Chair Couple, Lourdes and Oscar Flores, and Guest speakers: Marybel and Bruce Carlisle. There was something for everyone during an evening that supported the service of our Legionaries and Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi in the Southeast.
Much gratitude is reserved for our 2023 Chair Couple, Lourdes & Oscar Flores, who captained the ship as we planned and coordinated this year’s event. The guests also heard a great talk from Lourdes and Oscar about their experience with RC and how it has impacted their marriage and family.
Marybel and Bruce Carlisle, our guest speakers, shared about their special moments as a married couple and raising a strong, faith-filled family. They provided many highlights of their relationship together and highlighted the difference Regnum Christi has made in their relationship.
…what are we building here in Atlanta – a communion of witness.
Another special highlight of the evening was the talk from one of the Auxilary Bishops in Atlanta, the Most Reverend John Nhán Trấn. It was wonderful to hear more about his life and his perspective and insights on building and maintaining strong marriages.
Finally, it was an incredible evening for all who attended this year’s Gala, and it was also beautiful to see the great turnout from so many young adults whom Fr. Shawn Aaron, the Territorial Director of the Legionaries of Christ, pointed out were so important to the growth of Regnum Christi. All was coordinated by this year’s 2023 master of ceremonies, John Hartwell.
The night concluded with a Fund for the Cause, which raised funds for the Legionaries of Christ and Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi, who work in all different areas to impact both marriage and family. It was great to see this gathering of our spiritual family and friends and a beautiful atmosphere of generosity to help continue our shared mission to renew, form, and launch. Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped to make this event a great success, and thanks to all of YOU for your continued prayers, support, and gifts to allow us to continue our mission in Atlanta.
