We were so excited to celebrate this year’s Gala as the theme focused on strengthening the domestic church. On October 20, we hosted our 13th annual Thy Kingdom Come! Gala at the Georgia Aquarium! With a wonderful turnout, guests were treated to a special evening with a cocktail hour, a delicious meal, and talks by our Honored Guest, the Auxiliary Bishop of Atlanta, Joel M. Konzen, S.M., and the Chair Couple, Laurie and Mike Carlton. There was something for everyone during an evening that supported the service of the Legionaries of Christ and Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi in the Southeast.
We would like to express our gratitude to our 2024 Chair Couple, Laurie and Mike Carlton, who led the charge as we planned and coordinated this year’s event. The guests also heard a great talk from Laurie and Mike about their family and the role Regnum Christi provided in shaping their lives.
Gaëtane Auger, CRC and Community Supervisor in Atlanta, along with Fr. Shawn Aaron, LC, NA Territorial Director shared some special insights and thoughts on their vocations and the importance of building strong Catholic families in today’s world.
…Faith grows when it is lived and shaped by love. That is why our families, our homes, are true domestic churches. – Pope Francis
Another special highlight of the evening was the speech from one of the Auxilary Bishops in Atlanta, the Most Reverend Joel M. Konzen, S.M. It was wonderful to hear from him and his perspective on strengthening the domestic church.
Finally, it was a wonderful evening for all who attended this year’s Gala, and it was also beautiful to see the great turnout! A SPECIAL thank you to all of this year’s Gala Sponsors for their support. All was coordinated by a great master of ceremonies, John Hartwell.
The night concluded with a Fund for the Mission, which raised funds for the Legionaries of Christ and Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi, who work in all different areas to impact both marriage and family. It was great to see this gathering of our spiritual family and friends and a beautiful atmosphere of generosity to help continue our shared mission to renew, form, and launch. Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped to make this event a great success, and thanks to all of YOU for your continued prayers, support, and gifts to allow us to continue our mission in Atlanta.
We are also excited to share with you all of the Gala media from this year’s event. Please enjoy the “Gala Highlight Video” here which was recorded and produced by Fr. Michael O’Connor, LC. The rest of the available Gala media is available on our RC Atlanta YouTube channel on this playlist.
