HOLY WEEK ATLANTA 2024

Our ever-changing world continues to present us with new challenges and obstacles.  Through the creativity of so many, we continue to evolve as missionaries and find even more ways to help spread the Good News. We’re excited to feature these special events for families and youth during Holy Week.

For Holy Week 2024,  we will again be united in mission. Our 2024 theme, “Given” evokes the mysterious back and forth between us and God. Christ gives himself to us in his incarnation, his passion and cross, and through the ages in the Eucharist. We give back to him. We give back to him through others. We give him to others. And we give ourselves to others on his behalf.

Sign up for a Holy Week Mission with friends or family for this unique experience!

Holy Week Missions will be held at various locations in the Atlanta area and are open to families, young adults, and youth. The coordinators at each mission site will have activities, formation, liturgy celebrations, talks, and games scheduled during each mission.  There is something for all ages!

The missionaries are READY to hit the streets. Below are links to details and online registration information for all available missions in the Atlanta area! Now, let’s go prepared to GO AND SERVE!

1. HISTORY & VALUES

Mission Youth is a English-speaking branch of Juventud y Familia Misionera, a Catholic evangelization ministry born in Mexico in 1987 as a response to Saint John Paul II’s call to the New Evangelization. It was established in the US in 1993, after World Youth Day in Denver.

Attending a mission is an impactful experience for both youth and adults alike. Whether you go out of the country or simply travel downtown, meeting and serving others and sharing Christ’s love is a great experience. VIRTUAL HOLY WEEK MISSIONS
HIGH SCHOOL & YOUNG ADULT VIRTUAL MERCY MISSIONS

THEME: “LEAVE YOUR MARK”

The theme of our mission this year is: “Leave Your Mark”. We are convinced that each one of us has been created with a personal mission that God has entrusted to us. God has willed to make us part of salvation history and chooses to need us to bring His message to this world. Even though we are not able to go to the streets of Atlanta this year and visit the homeless, the sick, and the needy, we know that God has a mission for us and wants us to be His apostles from home this Holy Week.

From Holy Thursday through Easter Sunday we will broadcast formation blocks, mission challenges, prayer experiences, and liturgical celebrations so that you can live this Holy Week from home. We want each High Schooler and Young Adult participating in our virtual mission to receive the tools needed to become beacons of light in their world.
